Rotary evaporators, commonly known as rotovaps , rotavaps or rotavapors, are extremely valuable to a number of downstream applications requiring efficient distillation & solvent removal. Often combined with a vacuum pump, rotary evaporators are used to remove solvents from samples through evaporation. During this process, rotary evaporators reduce the pressure within the system to lower the solvent boiling point, rotate the sample to increase the effective surface area, and heat up the solution.
